F Gas

In line with the European Union FGas Regulation, (Fluorinated Gases) from 4th July 2009 it became a legal requirement for all businesses that install, maintain or service stationary refrigeration, air-conditioning, heat-pump (RAC) equipment that contains "F gas" refrigerants to hold a Company Certificate issued by an appointed Company Certification Body. Climate Facilities has registered with REFCOM who have been formally named by Defra.

R22 Phase Out

Under EU Ozone Regulation EC2037/2000, by the end of 2009 the use of virgin R22 refrigerant will be banned, but it will be permissible to use recycled R22 for maintenance purposes until the end of 2014. However, there is no guarantee on the quality and availability of the refrigerant and industry experts are predicting stocks of recycled R22 to be depleted well before the end of 2014 which will inevitably result in a steep increase in the cost of the available refrigerant.
